HI. Network tab

The Network tab is the main workspace in Haul Infinity, where you can draw a 3D road network over of existing pits and topos, and interact with it to create nodes and routes for haulage.

Description of this tab main items see below.

Network tab overview

Route Selections panel

The Route Selections panel is used to select the parameters required for calculating cycle times.

Use dropdowns to select applicable parameters
  1. Select a material type in the Material Type field, the available materials are defined in the Materials step.

  2. Select a loader from the Loader dropdown, the available loader types are defined in the Loaders step.

  3. Select a truck from the Truck dropdown, the available dump truck types are defined in the Models step.

  4. Specify the applicable operating conditions in the Operating Conditions field, defined in the Operating Conditions step.

  5. The History panel displays previous haul routes, including Source and Destination.

Nodes tab

Open the Nodes tab (bottom left corner) to select and group the nodes displayed in the viewport and configure their attributes.

In the Attribute panel, flag the nodes and their properties you want to display in the network viewport. Use the right-click dropdown to work with the selected nodes.

Drag fields from the Available Fields list to the Grouped Fields list. The added fields will be shown in the Attribute panel.

Example of the Nodes panel use with custom nodes see here.

Segments tab

Open the Segments tab to select and group the segments displayed in the viewport and configure their attributes.

In the Attribute panel, flag the nodes and their properties you want to display in the network viewport. Use the right-click dropdown to work with the selected segments.

Drag fields from the Available Fields list to the Grouped Fields list. The added fields will be shown in the Attribute panel.

More details on grouping segments see here.

Blocks tab

Open the Blocks tab to select, show/hide, move up and down in the list, delete blocks, as well as to import and export joins and further blocks setup.

  1. Expand the blocks tree to the desired level:

    1. When you click on a row in the tree, that row should be temporarily visible in the viewport.

    2. When you tick a row in the tree, that row should be permanently visible in the viewport.

    3. When you double click a row, it should center those blocks in the viewport.

  2. Use the green double-tick icon to flag all records and show all mine levels.

  3. Change the tree order with the blue arrow icons

  4. Use the grey double-tick icon to uncheck all blocks.

  5. Remove a row with the single red minus icon (this cannot be undone).

  6. Remove all blocks with the double red minus icon (this cannot be undone).

  7. Import or export joins to the ".blockJoins" file by selecting the appropriate import/export options.

8. Press the gear icon to open the Setup Blocks menu, where you can select Travel Level in Tree (in relation to the path RL), Travel Alignment (bottom, middle or top) and Block Type (Source or Destination)

9. Check if blocks are all connected to the haul network. A red exclamation mark in the Isolated Blocks column will show beside isolated blocks.

Viewport and Toolbar

Detailed description of the toolbar buttons and their use for interacting with the haul network in the viewport, see here.

Overlays panel

The Overlays panel belongs to the Common User Interface Elements that can be found in all Alastri software.

Panel name Overlays is used only in Haul Infinity, in other programs it’s named Layers.

Detailed description of all the Overlays panel items and instructions for their use can be found here.

Road Signs tab

Go to the Road Signs tab to add speed limits signs. Use the To Show dropdown to include additional signs in this panel, which you can further drag and drop into the viewport and assign to segments and nodes in the haul network.

More information on speed limit and road signs, see here.

Flags tab

The Flags tab is used to toggle road segments on or off. In this panel, you can add, remove, move up and down in the list, and import and export road and ramps flags.

More details on adding and assigning flags see here.

Properties panel

By default the Properties panel is located in the right bottom part of a screen. It is used to display the properties of network components selected.

From the Selection field dropdown, select an item which properties you wish to display (it can be BasicPoint, Block, Node, Segment, HaulRoute).

The Properties panel view areas and fields change depending on the selected network items, as shown in the table below.

BasicPoint

BasicPoint is a minimum base point of the haul network.

When a single basic point is selected, its X, Y and Z coordinates are displayed in the General table.

Each Node has two basic points.

If one Segment is selected, two basic points are involved, and the General table displays "multiple values" for the axes.

Block

Review the information for the selected block, such as:

  1. Name,

  2. Full Name,

  3. Number of Auto joins,

  4. Number of manual joins,

  5. Block geometry: Top, Bottom, Height, Travel RL.

  6. If required, you can change time in seconds that truck is waiting at dump (SpotAtDumpSeconds).

Node

Select a node from the tree, or find it in the network, or create a new one using “Promote Point to Node” option (available in the right-click menu).

Use the Node Type field dropdown to change type of the selected node, ie:

  • BenchExit,

  • Crusher,

  • Stockpile,

  • LiftEntry,

  • Waypoint.

In the Name field specify/change the node name according to the naming rule.

The DataSource and UID fields are locked from editing in this panel.

If required, you can change time in seconds that truck is waiting at dump (SpotAtDumpSeconds).

Segment

Select a network segment (in this example, road). The name of the segment can be changed as required.

In the locked DataSource field, you can see that the segment has been drawn.

Flag the TrolleyAssist checkbox if a trolley drive is used on this segment.

Flag the SingleLane checkbox if the segment uses a single lane for hauling.

Review and, if necessary, change the Rolling Resistance value in the Rolling Resistance field.

In the Metrics area, review the metrics that apply to the segment (they cannot be edited).

If applicable, tick the appropriate flags for this road.

HaulRoute

Select a Haul route and view its properties, such as Source and Destination, as well as related metrics (distance, uphill elevation change, downhill elevation change, absolute elevation change).

In the sections below see the description of other Network tab parts and components you’ll use when drawing your haulage network:

Multiple Screens

For easier viewing, panels and tabs can be dragged out of Haul Infinity and onto a second screen.

To support multiple screens:

  1. Go to the Network tab.

  2. Select and drag the Cycle Time Analysis tab onto a new screen.

  3. Select and drag the Charts tab onto a new screen.

  4. To dock the tabs, double click on the header bar.
