HI. Toolbar

This section describes the toolbar buttons used in the Network tab and explains how they interact with the haul network in the viewport.

Compass

In the top right corner of the viewport you will see the compass cube. It is used to change the view and display the grid.

Right-click and rotate the compass to show the desired angle of view of the objects in the viewport.

Click on the top of the compass (TOP) to show the top (plane) view. Grid can only be displayed in this view (you can also use the grid button in the toolbar or the <G> shortcut key).

  • Click on the sides of the compass cube to quickly change to Right, Left, Front, Back, and Bottom views.

  • You can also use the N (north), S (south), W (west), and E (east) symbols to change the view.

Toolbar

The toolbar includes buttons used when working with your project's transport network.

A detailed description of all the toolbar buttons, their functions and applicable shortcut keys are given in the table below.

Plan view. A grid can also be used in this view.

<G>

Toggle grid. The grid is only available in the top and plan views. Grid size, color and labelling can be set in Tools > Project Settings > Grid.

<C>

The screenshot tool saves the current view to clipboard for pasting into reports or presentations.

Screenshots can be taken in 1x, 2x or 5x resolution so that you always have clear, crisp images to share.

Drawing the distance you can measure in the viewport

Draw Segments. Press this icon and left click on the surfaces to draw roads that connect, for example, pit and dump.

Shows coordinate information on-screen when in draw mode.

Snap to Plane.

Use the eye dropper to select an elevation from a surface/model.

Z-Offset.

When drawing segments, offsets points vertically by a specified distance.

Gradient Offset.

When drawing segments, offsets the clicked point such that the specified grade is maintained from the previous point. It is recommended to draw in Plan view with this tool.

Great for drawing interim ramps.

Blocks display modes

Road and fleet animations can be toggled under the animations menu in the toolbar. Click the Animation button and in the dropdown menu specify the desired Animation Speed, and which elements (Trucks/Roads) you wish to animate.

Sometimes you may need to save particular view for consistent screenshots in your reports. To save the current view of any object in the viewport, click the Views button at the right end of the top toolbar and choose “Add View”.

In the Assign View Name window that appears, enter a name for the view and click OK to save. The camera perspective will be saved for later viewing.

To return to the saved view of the viewport, click Views and select the appropriate one. You can move to the certain view (“Activate” option), edit its name (“Rename” option), or delete it (“Remove” option).
